Will your wife have someone else with her, because you would only be a soulless ass if you left her alone.

It doesn't really matter who's with her for the pushing, as for comforting them really I prefered everyone just kept quiet. All your plans can change anyway when your in the moment.

23: I totally understand. You should stay with her and hold her hand (or rather let her put the death grip on yours - bruises and scratches and all). They put a blanket over her so you won't see your most favorite of places all distorted. This way you can still be with your wife and witness that first glance of the tiny arm or leg and here that first cry. To me, cutting the cord that joins the Mother and child is a symbolic step for the Dad, but maybe not for everyeone - so that one's up to you. Roy cut it without seeing my parts. You'll be fine.

Along the same line - why doesn't breast feeding freak a Dad out for the same reason?

This is all very interesting infos guys. Taurus I can't beleive you had you MIL in there!
23, this is what we kind of came up with. He'll be there, by my head for confort and if he feels compelled to watch then he can peek and come right back up if it's too much. Lots of guys get mesmerized and end up watching the whole thing. ( kinda like a car crash lol j/k). Either way they should stay away from placenta and gook. My gf's husband was checking the placenta with the doctor, he was explaining everything and streching the thing out, he loved it lol.
