Twan, whereabouts did your friends go for their bike ride? North or South Island? Did they camp out? Its awesome for camping here, cause there's no beasties like bears, wildcats or wolves to get ya. No snakes or lizards and only one poisonous spider. Only inquisitive parrots to steal your tucker.
Hopefully they missed the shit weather we're getting at the moment ~ cyclones spinning off of Australia. Ended the nice long, fine, dry spell we've had since Christmas.

Maybe one day you and the missus [and the sprogg]will make it out here. Then you'll have to call in and see us.

They went to both islands. They camped about half the time and stayed in travel lodges (I think that's what they called them) about half the time. They're not back to Ohio yet (in the Southwest right now - they're going to go to the Grand Canyon before coming back home), but they called the other night and briefly told me how great the trip was.

I'd love to get down there eventually, but $$ is obviously a big issue. The only reason they were able to go is that Annie (the other friend) lost her brother in Iraq a year and a half ago and she used part of the death benefit to take this trip. Her brother always wanted to go to NZ, and she is trying to do a lot of the things that he's never going to be able to do.
