Thanks y'all. I don't want a perfectly good thread about the old-timers to get hijacked by my musical endeavors. I'm honestly floored that anyone still bothers to listen. It means a lot to me. Thank you :)

I miss a lot of the old people too...AdCameron, Chrisless, Q & A, Loverlips, Curare, Maif, Aaron, BadMotorFlutter, all of the NJ and Philly people...the list could go on and on. I still remember meeting at least a dozen of the old timers at the Town Hall in NJ. That was a great night...one that I will likely never forget.

Hopefully, the new page will bring some of them back.

Thanks for the props on Balckbird Symphonique. I'm going to try to make with the rock on a few tracks, but I have a tough time getting up for rock right now. Everything sounds so lifeless to me these days. My interpretation of that "sound" would probably not be considered marketable or en-vogue. I like guitars that breathe, drums that ring out...melody and lyrics that mean something. None of these things are valued in rock right now. One needs look no further than that Buckcherry song to know what I'm talking about.

I'm going off the beaten path with the new stuff. I just hope that the people whom I think are there waiting for something fresh are really there. I happen to think that there are a lot of people out there who feel the same as me when it comes to new "pop" music and it's imposed limitations. There will be something for everybody in Blackbird Symphonique...at least that is my hope. Slowloader wasn't like that. It was turning out to be just another angry-boy rock band. I miss it, but not enough to go backwards.

That's definitely not what I was trying to say. I just think you have a great ear for melody and I would hate to see you throw out that baby with the bathwater.

Like I said, I love the fragments you have up right now, and you can count me among the paying audience when your Blackbird album comes out, but there are so few songwriters who can write a good, meaningful, stick to your ribs melody. Take advantage of your talent for it.

I know what you're saying about the state of rock music today - and if your heart isn't in that place, I don't blame you.

As a fan, I don't want you to go backwards, either. But, IMO, good, melodic songwriting never goes out of style.

(And please understand that all of the above does not come from a place of criticism & negativity. Just voicing my opinion).
