Yes I love her too! Remember how crazy we were with our emails? I wonder how we got any work done lol.
Last I heard was maybe 8 months ago. She was involved and doing good. It's easy to lose touch. What about Curare? Last I heard he was separating from Gina. I'm bad I should have kept up with everybody :(
Where is Bette?

I totally lost touch with Curare after I asked him for something for my Cub Scouts! LOL! That's right, I asked Curare for help with something for my boys! You can always find the Queens Zoo website to see what he's doing with the Sun Bears.

I invited Bette here a while back - and talked to her just a few weeks ago. She's fine - just busy. Not sure why she never posted here! I miss her, too!

What about...I can't remember what her name was now. The hippy girl with the long curly dark hair from...was it Minneapolis?

AHHH this will drive me nuts. She was a big Grateful Dead fan. Pretty blue eyes against the dark hair. She had kids. Dammit...that's gonna bother me until I remember.

Yeah - Nate did disappear! I wonder if ...dammit...whatshername that has the adorable little boy...Trish! Aha! I bet Trish knows where he is.

No - I had even forgotten about that one! It's the same as my e-mail address now, though I'm rarely ever on.

Yes - Trish had an adorable little boy and even posted a link to her website so we could see him. Gosh, I think it's been over a year now? Did you know that April & David (Aibrean & Quixote) had a little girl? I miss them too!

Also, we decided it was best to keep this place down to personal invitation so we don't get spammed to death. A light has done a fantastic job in allowing us to stay together! :)

right me 2! Oh yeah the other trish, I remember her too :)
I do miss aspen, does he know about this place? we fought like nasty cats, he backstabbed me and turned someone against me big time. Oh well, it was entertaining.
Did anyone ever fought with someone here and who?

I don't miss aspen either, he always picked on me for no reason. He was told about this place though and eventhough he knew he was still posting at the ASforum.

Anyway, no I haven't fought with anyone here. I think if Q or JCP was here we would find alot more fights. Do we really miss the fights? I don't, I'm also not the negative person that I was made to look like at the CCforum. Atleast from my point of view I'm not here.

No - no one has really fought here! And there have been points argued for and against, but no knock down draggum' outs! It's been nice!

What I do miss that is totally bad were the bogus fights between JCP and his wife. If he could have just stuck to showing off his multiple personalities, that would have been more fun!

What about Mr. Flannel, remember him? He was alot of fun! AND that ultra-conservative kid from New York state that said he's take my son out for a beer - can't remember his name.

Who DOTU? I still talk to him.
Mr flannel lol, i haven't heard that name in a while!
So was jpc's wife really on? I remember reading some shite about it and wasn't sure wth was going on. He loved his wife to pieces than it seemed that they got divorced? I was weirded out.
This is not the place for fights, that's probably why aspen doesn't come here, he loves controversy.

He did the same thing before like 4 years earlier. I don't know for a fact that it was real or fake, but I think it was bogus.

I don't even remember what James Labrie posted. I don't miss that Webster Bear person. I still wonder who Chris's left ball is! Lol!

I loved one of JCP "characters" her name was badeyeopen which cracked me up. She was dumb and funny as hell. JPC was honest with me sometimes and he admitted he was her lol. I was like please don't make her go away I love her!

hippie girl in MN with kids = Jessy/Chrisless!

at least, i'm almost positive that's who you're talking about. she used to live near chicago and was good friends w/BlueShine, but moved to MN awhile later, and has a couple kids. and she has long curly hair.

oh okay...well when i met her she was wearing a tie-dyed shirt so that's what made me think hippie.

cool that she's back in chicago. wonder if blue is back there too? she was awesome.

i always thought that JCP's wife thing was bogus too, esp back in the day when she wrote in all caps w/the same sort of typos as JCP himself! i think he had more alter egos than anyone else though maybe some had more.

i always wonder about that woman who posted as "hunger" in the beginning.

and yes outs has the addy here, maybe she has lurked or maybe decided not to, who knows.

OMG "Big Sleep" the first song from the first slowloader CD just came up on my iTunes!

You don't know how much that just made my day, Chrys. I just put most all of my gear up for sale because I didn't think I'd ever be making music again. It is strange how these things present themselves at pivitol times in a person's life.

Thanks! :)

Well, if most of you believe JCP and his wife were the same people, he had me fooled. Sometimes I was just not sure.

I had a few arguments with DMB and everytime I did JCP would PM me and tell me what happened in thier marriage and all this other crap and asked me if I would do some of the things she did, etc. So I guess I was part of his game.

the Trish who had the baby was psudophreak (spelling?) She had the beautiful little boy. London is his name. She lives in Indiana.
and yes the JCP/DMB drama was for real. Way back about 5 years ago I was friends with them. I remember when they were going to separate but reconciled.
and when she, (Donna) started posting as DMB I had a few phone conversations with her. so yeah that was real life wacko drama!

Alice - no kidding! She was mad enough to post on a website he frequented!? For real! WOW! And he was dumb enough to post about asking a girl to marry him after like 2 dates when he knew she'd be reading? MAN! That really must have been a mess.

Jessy - yes that's who I meant. She may not have been a hippy, that's just my internet view of her because she was such a Dead fan.

I don't remember Hunger.

What about Justme?

Rob!

Don't sell your shit, man!

I can understand that you're frustrated, but you're obviously a musician and you're never going to be happy if you aren't involved with music in some form or another.

Just two cents from a fan.

yeah, that's my favorite off light & shade as well, just love that chorus, "so nice to relate with you/discontented eye to eye...." love to sing along to that one, esp the last time around, at the top of my lungs.

kelly is the deadhead (and floydhead), but jessy's pretty damn cool in her own way : )

cool, i will check out blue's post.

This is all getting too confusing! And now I thought I spotted Bette's given name on the birthin' thread, but the post looked like it could have been Gren's, so I don't know what the heck is goin' on anymore! :P

Rob, I really like the cover/artwork for Blackbird Symphonique. I couldn't get to listen to your new stuff cause of my poor net connection, but I plan to resolve that soon. Have you been in touch with Ian Love? I had no idea Cardia was over. That was a great band... Ian's an amazing singer.

Rob - I REALLY dig the new stuff you've put up there. I'm sure the worst thing in the world is a non-musician giving a musician like yourself any musical advice, but why don't you incorporate some of Slowloader's huge, sweeping melodies into this new sound? You may already be planning on doing so, as these are only song fragments, but I think that would be a great stylistic marriage.

And I agree with light - love the artwork. Ravens/crows are my favorite bird, and that image is just perfect and haunting.

[> Re: Where are they now? Old Forum Members -- Robert, 12:36:19 03/31/06 Fri [1]

Thanks y'all. I don't want a perfectly good thread about the old-timers to get hijacked by my musical endeavors. I'm honestly floored that anyone still bothers to listen. It means a lot to me. Thank you :)

I miss a lot of the old people too...AdCameron, Chrisless, Q & A, Loverlips, Curare, Maif, Aaron, BadMotorFlutter, all of the NJ and Philly people...the list could go on and on. I still remember meeting at least a dozen of the old timers at the Town Hall in NJ. That was a great night...one that I will likely never forget.

Hopefully, the new page will bring some of them back.

Thanks for the props on Balckbird Symphonique. I'm going to try to make with the rock on a few tracks, but I have a tough time getting up for rock right now. Everything sounds so lifeless to me these days. My interpretation of that "sound" would probably not be considered marketable or en-vogue. I like guitars that breathe, drums that ring out...melody and lyrics that mean something. None of these things are valued in rock right now. One needs look no further than that Buckcherry song to know what I'm talking about.

I'm going off the beaten path with the new stuff. I just hope that the people whom I think are there waiting for something fresh are really there. I happen to think that there are a lot of people out there who feel the same as me when it comes to new "pop" music and it's imposed limitations. There will be something for everybody in Blackbird Symphonique...at least that is my hope. Slowloader wasn't like that. It was turning out to be just another angry-boy rock band. I miss it, but not enough to go backwards.

[> Re: Where are they now? Old Forum Members -- 23, 13:34:48 03/31/06 Fri [1]

That's definitely not what I was trying to say. I just think you have a great ear for melody and I would hate to see you throw out that baby with the bathwater.

Like I said, I love the fragments you have up right now, and you can count me among the paying audience when your Blackbird album comes out, but there are so few songwriters who can write a good, meaningful, stick to your ribs melody. Take advantage of your talent for it.

I know what you're saying about the state of rock music today - and if your heart isn't in that place, I don't blame you.

As a fan, I don't want you to go backwards, either. But, IMO, good, melodic songwriting never goes out of style.

(And please understand that all of the above does not come from a place of criticism & negativity. Just voicing my opinion).

[> Re: Where are they now? Old Forum Members -- Robert, 14:43:08 03/31/06 Fri [1]

light - Sorry I missed it before. Talked to Ian a few weeks back. Cardia's not over. They actually have a new record in the bag, but are having a hard time finding distribution. The record industry is getting really unstable...especially when a guy from Rival Schools can't get distro for his album. I've heard some of the new songs, and IMO, they are incredible. One of my dream gig's would be to be in a band with Ian. I think that our styles would work brilliantly off of eachother, and he's one of the few vocalists left out there that I have total respect for.

Chico, Light & Shade is sold out. The Tattwas is still available though. In fact I am probably going to drop the price on them at CD Baby. I still have about 1000 of them sitting in my garage, and they have to go. I'll be dropping it to $5 on CD baby. That's the lowest that they will let me go. CD Baby might actually have a few copies of Light & shade too. I'll have to check.

Twan, no offense taken bro :). Your feedback is valuable to me, and I will certainly do my best to keep things as melodic and interesting as possible. There will be a lot of new sounds incorporated into the materail which were not part of the Slowloader stuff. For starters, I'm playing a lot more piano/rhodes/wurly than I ever did on the slowloader stuff. I'm also programming beats to lend the urban/electronica/trip-hop vibe to the music. Most people here don't know that I used to spin before I ever picked up a guitar. In a sense I'm getting back to my roots by incorporating some of that vibe into the new material.

Ronnie will get involved at some point, but for now, everything that makes it to the myspace page will be 100% me. That will also be a bit of a departure since Slowloader was always a compromise between the visions of 4 different people. I still trust Ronnie's instincts, and know for a fact that he's in some very interesting headspaces these days. His playing is better than ever.
