Subject: Poor Britney
Britney Spears's six-month-old son, Sean Preston, fell and hit his head on Saturday, April 1, at the Malibu home the pop star shares with husband Kevin Federline, a source close to Spears tells PEOPLE.
More on this story
Britney: It's a Boy!
While the baby's nanny was lifting him from his high chair, something snapped in the chair and Sean Preston slipped from her arms and fell to the floor, bruising his head.
A doctor came to the house that day and examined the child; he seemed fine.
But six days later, Spears and Federline became concerned and took Sean Preston to Santa Monica-UCLA Medical Center to have him checked out, the source adds. No serious problems were found.
Spears, Federline and their son are back home and doing fine now, a second source tells PEOPLE.
After the hospital visit, child welfare officials visited Spears's home accompanied by a sheriff's deputy.
CREDIT: FAME"The Department of Children and Family Services called us on Saturday (April 8) and asked us to accompany them to the home of Mrs. Spears for their visit," Los Angeles County Sheriff's spokeswoman Lt. Debra Glafkides tells PEOPLE. "It's very routine and common for us to accompany them."
According to Glafkides, the visit lasted about half an hour and no police report was filed.
The Sheriff's Department could not release any further information, and the Department of Children and Family Services generally does not comment on cases due to confidentiality laws.
"While there was an automatic report by the hospital to the Department of Children and Family Services, DCFS immediately responded and determined there was no problem and no reason to open a formal investigation," Spears's attorney Marty Singer tells PEOPLE. "They determined that the parents were not involved in any injury and that nothing improper was done within the home."
I wonder if this was the actual 2nd call CSV got since she was endangering her kid in the car that one time?

I think the will only call child welfare if they think someone was negligent or not accidental.

TG: I agree.
My son kept getting nose bleeds (I think due to the heating system at his school). I called to make him a doctor's appointment to see if something could be done (though I knew there couldn't - the school wanted me to take him). I was asked if he had purple spots. "Purple spots?" I asked, never having heard of this. After a pause, the nurse said "Bruises. Does he have bruises anywhere on the rest of his body?" "NO!" I was really offended. But they didn't call child services on me - though if he would have had bruises I bet they would have. But they were checking.
I just think she's a stupid parent and doesn't have the right person in her life to help her. I also don't think her husband even is a parent. There is no IQ test for making babies. There are alot of stupid parents. But she's in the public eye. That's why I kinda feel bad for her. She's just ignorant.

For some reason, I bet they blamed it on the nanny. When she drove with the baby without him being in a carseat, they(Britney & Co) blamed that they were unaware of child safety standards because there wasn't enough information given to the public about it. I think when you are becoming a parent it's your job to find out all you need to know, she has enough money to take a parenting class. There are also enough parenting books out there and a carseat has instructions and I'm pretty sure they all say that the baby has to be strapped in at all times. I went to a car seat safety check that they have in mall parking lots, they do try and inform parents about it.
Your right she is ignorant and she doesn't have the right partner. I don't even think that guy could take care of himself. He doesn't have lases on his shoes for a reason.... LOL :(

Poor little baby. I would have been freaked out, if that had happened. My kiddo, in February, was playing by the entertainment center, which he knows he's not supposed to do. Right when my hubby told him "no" and went to get him, he slipped and fell face-first into the center. My hubby picked him up and his nose started bleeding like crazy. My hubby was soooo upset and rushed him to the doctor. I have never been so scared. We weren't sure if he broke it or what. Even though Britney is an ignorant parent, I still feel bad for her in this situation. She must have been terrified.

Oh that's scary, but this girl I know (I'd call her a friend, but I try not to be too friendly with whores) had a tv on top of a dresser. Her little one was playing with the dresser and ended up underneath the TV!!!! No more than a bruise. She was very very lucky. Never put a TV on a dresser in a house with a baby!!!

Um when I was about 3 I pulled out the bottom drawer on my grandmas dresser to climb up it and it fell on top of me.
There are so many little accidents that have happened around here. My kids have bruises on their legs and arms that they don't even know how they got them.

Don't knock the oldest profession. They are providing a necessary service.
And I don't mean to sound like I'm preaching to anyone here, but can we please, please just stop caring about Britney and her trials and tribulations? I'm no brain scientist or anything, but I bet there's a limited amount of space up there and it seems rather tragic to fill any of it with this wreck and her daily activities.

Oh - I wouldn't mind if she were a prostitute and actually charged.
But this girl gave her own brother-in-law head several times! And his wife is a good friend of mine. Her own brother-in-law.
I'll leave Britney alone. I just feel pretty bad for her, honestly. She's been misguided. :(

Did he just say Geez Louise! I say that all the time.
Anyway, I think after Brit's first incident with the car seat fiasco, everytime something happens to the baby she'll be judged on her parenting skills.

Re: Poor Britney -- Robert, 18:47:06 04/13/06 Thu [1]
People are gunning for Britney. It's another case of the media trying to tear down someone that they built up into a cultural icon. It happens all of the time in fact. Take a look at those whome the media has ordained as the next wave of cultural icons. Watch as they force these fuckers down your throat for the next decade, and they systematically dismantle them when it's time to do it all over again for the next wave of suckers.
That's fame...and it's impossible price.
