unofficial countdown
Nah, not for a record or tour, but for our new unofficial site.
April 23rd is the projected date. (I gotta put the pressure of a deadline on myself or I'll procrastinate forever).
I'm gonna ask y'all to do me a favor here. I have a thing about wanting this place to stay complete until the time that we move, meaning I'm hoping that no threads will be tossed out of our archives. Once we move, this refuge can become 'read-only' and I think it will be a nice to have the complete picture of our time here saved for posterity. Or something ;)
We have about a week left. Usually we fill a little more than a page in that time frame. Right now we have under a page left in our archives. So I'd like to ask everyone to slightly 'tighten our belts' just for this week. The biggest sacrifice right now is not posting pics unless you deem it pretty important. They really do limit the amount of threads that we can post on a page. That's about it, except maybe use a little extra discrimination when deciding to post new threads-- not that any have ever been 'a waste'! We just have to slightly cut down the numbers for the moment.
Hope that's not too controlling or anything, or that it takes away from the enjoyment of reading and writing here. I'm a little obsessive, and I hope it's not a problem humoring me.
Feel free to complain and make fun of me behind my back... or even here. (But don't start a new thread for it! ;))

jes, i did not mean my post to be bitchy towards you at all, and i realize it may have come across that way. i just really liked a's idea about preserving this as read-only and with all the threads, something that we never could do with CC.com. anyway it was not meant in ANY way as a personal dig or anything, so i really hope you didnt' take it that way. i didn't even realize how bitchy i sounded until i reread it long after i posted. my bad!
ps. i liked both your threads today, btw. the stuff up the ass one had me like, half totally disgusted and half laughing my ASS (sans phones or whip handles) off!

Hey there. I didn't want to start a new thread with this. The ACL fest is having a daily scavenger hunt for the next couple of days. Today's answer is the Shins. If you go to the shins site and click on the black bird, you can register for 2 -3 day passes. The lineup will be similar to the Chicago Lolla since the same guys put both fests on.

But shit. I didn't want to make it seem like we couldn't start new threads or anything. Post away! We just need to keep it a little less than usual for this to work out. The combination of not posting pix, just a few less threads, holiday vacations and the usual light traffic on weekends will probably be enough to keep us ok until Opening Day.

I got back from Vegas yesterday. Had a lot of fun (really, more fun than I was expecting to). Played about 30 rounds of roulette (in between playing a whole lot of poker) and the number 23 hit four times. I also played 2, 3, 5 and 32 every time, and they all hit once (32 hit twice). Turned my $20 into $350.
So yeah, were are we moving to again?
(and thanks again for taking care of all of this for our collective lazy asses)
