leo,
let me know what you're thinking. if you're serious i'll give you my flight information, and we should find a cheap hotel where we can get a cheap room with two beds, but close enough to the paramount.
you know what i was just thinking? i think the shuttle has a drop off in downtown, so perhaps we could meet AJ there rather than the airport, i'll have to look into it. still haven't heard back from him, but will see him on weds or thurs for sure!
you only live once leo, we might as well have fun! when are you going to be so close to ahve the chance to see TOOL in seattle with cool people like this again?
ahhhhhhhh!

Re: TOOL announces more tour dates -- chrys, 00:57:59 04/20/06 Thu [1]
i'm still dying to know who you are!
the album is interesting. i think it's one of those ones that will take a bit to fully warm up too, which was definitely the case for me and lateralus.
does anyone have any idea whta the title reers to? i never gave it a ssecond thought until i read some review where someone said they were pretty sure right off the bat what it meant, and was pretty sure their interp was confirmed by the line after the one about "10,000 days since the fire is too long" or whatever the fuck it is, but i totally can't even make out the next line.
10,000 days is about 27.4 years...does that help?
i'm clueless

Re: TOOL announces more tour dates -- U4ria, 12:27:56 04/20/06 Thu [1]
This is what I found on Wikpedia:
"Marie" is the middle name of Maynard James Keenan's deceased mother, Judith Marie Keenan.
* As Keenan explains on commentary on aMOTION, his mother suffered a stroke that left her partially paralyzed and wheelchair-bound. The length of time between her paralysis and her death was 27 years, or approximately 10,000 days.

Thanks immensely Rob!! From me, and the choice individuals I passed it on to.
U4ria - I heard maynard sing Judith Marie in wings, and figured it was about his mom again. I also figured out the amount of years 10000 days amounted to, but did not understand the significance. Thanks for clearing that up for me!

Re: TOOL announces more tour dates -- chrys, 20:02:59 04/20/06 Thu [1]
thanks u4ria!
so, wouldn't it make sense that this is what happened when maynard was eleven in the song jimmy? i always thought it was something about his mother, but couldn't quite figure it out cuz i heard she didnt' die till much later so i thought, oh maybe i'm wrong. i'd never known about the paralysis before.

Are they touring with Isis? If so, Isis are not to be missed. Their album Oceanic is their Aenima/Superunknown IMO. Massive wall of sound from that band.

Re: TOOL announces more tour dates -- chrys, 14:40:38 04/22/06 Sat [1]
i did -seattle, two ticket limit and restrictions on selling only to WA or OR residents. otherwise leo would be going w/me. we even borrowed a credit card and leo got through on that, but damn if theh card didn't go through.
so i guess it's just me and AJ now...not the same w/o the other two : (((
i'm looking on craigslist, lol.

Re: TOOL announces more tour dates -- Laurie, 03:56:33 04/23/06 Sun [1]
Fuck, try 30 seconds. I got shut out of the Oakland show, as did two others trying for them. My buddy in Vegas was 6th on line at the ticketmaster venue and the first guy in line didn't even get them. Those shows sold fast.
Fuck : (
E-bay is full of the scalpers, selling off the tickets they scored. Most are going for about $250-$300, single and $400-$500 for a pair. Can't hack that, unfortunately.
Guess I'm waiting for the arena tour.
Hey, on a brighter note, congrats to those who got 'em! Good job!
Later,
Laurie

That sucks, Laurie. Yeah, I knew this would be a hard, if not impossible task, trying to get these tickets. I mean, some of these venues are tiny. I wish you luck in the future.

Laurie, I don't know what your lucks like, but sometimes they give away tix on the radio. Try and win.

Re: TOOL announces more tour dates -- Leo, 17:46:57 04/23/06 Sun [1]
Laurie - I'm sorry you didnt get tix. I'm going to Philly, and of course Coachella. But not getting those Seattle tickets when I had them in my hand practically, was a huge let down. I dont understand that venue's restrictions, especially since no other place did that. And I saw tickets on ebay for $1500 a pair only a couple hours later!
chrys, you'll still have fun w/o us! And when tool returns, the "other two" will definitely be there.

Re: TOOL announces more tour dates -- chrys, 18:34:21 04/23/06 Sun [1]
okay i'm sure tool boy and i will make the most of it, hahahaha, i almost forgot i used to call him that to you guys. it sure was a let down when you were SOOOO close. I also think the restrictions and the ebay prices are ridiculous.
you know i also went to look for tickets on craigslist and they people flagged all the sellers that were selling them for those outrageous prices. of course now no one is selling there, but like, shouldn't eBay do that? like fucking TM charges enough extra, we don't need tix going for like $600 a pop.
also i think if it was not so readily available on eBay, the scalpers would not be AS tempted to go ahead and get tix. there were sooo many auctions that went down yesterday, where the person said "Actual seats will be announced after 10:15 am on Saturday," so it's like they're obviously planning to scalp. they should get erased like the craigslist stuff does. and fined! i mean, it's illegal...and you know that i don't usually think things are wrong just cuz they're illegal, but this is like highway robbery, and it can also become like an economic issue, like for a good show, only ppl who can afford to drop $1400 on a pair of tix can go.
i'm seriously thinking of like, trying to do something about it. i mean, it seems like it just gets worse. it was bad for AS.
there was once some show that said any ebay tickets would be turned away at the door, like anyone who'd gone through ebay (how they were going to tell, i don't know, cuz if they could tell, they should just stop the person from posting the thing in the first place), but i think tha'ts shitty too cuz then the real fan who went out of their way to pay gets turned away and the scalper still has the dough!
lilke i siad i am seriously thinking about trying to do something to make changes, though eBay is huge so who knows if it would work. i guess i would not even have thought of it so much if i didn't see the insane restrictions on the seattle show, and see how completely ineffective it all was at stopping scalpers from doing their thing.
to clarify, i have sold tix before, last year i got tix to some shows before i quit the camp and then months later when the shows rolled around, i realized i coudlnt' afford to get to seattle to go, lol, and i tried to sell for face+charges and that's it, cuz i mean, come on, music is for everyone, at least IMHO. concerts are expenive enough!
also someone talking about this on craigslist said something about agencies getting tickets in bulk? is this true? and if so, with all the restrictions, how are they able to? like they get 500 seats a pop and the rest of us get two? is there some kind of shady dealing going on behind the scenes?
