Subject: Question???

What does "friendly fire" mean? I always here it, but I don't know why they call it that.

Friendly fire is the mild burn that Angelina Jolie would experience after I ate a quart of Kung Pao Chicken off of them titties. :)

Actually, it means that you were shot by or being shot at by an ally/friend in a combat situation.

with an emphasis on the MORON.

david cross has the funniest bit about this. he's doing his standup, and talking about how there are these prayer pamphlets from a group called "in touch ministries" (haha at the name) asking the troops to pray for bush. not only that, there is like a tear-off section they are supposed to fill out with their pledge to pray for the president and mail to the white house. as if that ins't like the most absurd thing EVER. anyway so DC pretends to be like a dying soldier dodging bullets saying things like "must finish prayer" as he's writhing in pain as if shot. "please see to it that GWB has the strength to...finish his lobster salad tonight and god with your guidance give him the courage to cut 4.4 billion dollars from the veterans' budget. thank you, now i may die."

then he's all like, well that fictional soldier i was portraying, it's not that bad, because he was actually kileld by friendly fire. h e goes on about that and what a ridiculous concept it is and then is like, "it makes it sound like a bullet in a top hat with a cane," and then he's all like "hey bullet-y, what's going on? how's it going?" and then the bullet sings this hilarious song w/a british accent like "you and me mate gonna travel through time, gonna rip through your aorta and pop out your behind, so off you go to 'eaven with me..."

one time i was a tthis semi-buddhist gathering and teh guy leading it was saying something about the ego wearing a different hat, or something like that, some specific kind of hat, nad i was w/my friend tracy, and she's the one i always listened to david cross with and when he said that about the ego/hat i just thought of the animaed bullet in a top hat and cane, and the soldier saying "hey bullet-y" and i totally could not keep a straight face the rest of the gathering.

in all seriousness though, it's not really funny and rob pretty much summed it up up there. i saw somespecial on tv or somewhere, god knows if i remember , about how these mothers of fallen soldiers weren't told until much later that their kids had died in friendly fire.

we really are making one huge MESS.

Yeah a total oxymoron. Someone shooting at you, is never friendly!

Thanks for the explanation Rob.
