I have a friend though who was so self-concious about it because he didn't have one in a world where EVERYONE else did. And the older you get, supposedly the worse the surgery is (although how do they know how bad it is for a baby?). Anyhow - that's a tough call - especially when you don't have a penis yourself!

I lean toward getting it done, but I have heard horror stories about surgeries gone wrong and gender re-assignments being done. Very rare, but it's basically the only reason I can think of not do it.

As far as the trauma is concerned, I'd imagine the process of being born is much more traumatic than circumcision.
