You know, out of all of the comic book movies - aside from League of Extraordinary Gentlemen (which I saw recently and is my favorite), I'd say the Spiderman movies have been the BEST! Normally, I'd be dreading a 3rd sequal, but they've been good so far - and I think #2 was even better than #1.

Mr. Mom (and head of the Rex parade this year) made a good Batman, though. So did Val Kilmer. But I still think Spiderman has been better.

The League was soooo weak compared to the original graphic novel. And I'm not one of those purists or anything, it just lost everything that made the original so great. All of the grit and humanity was replaced with gloss and heroism.

Just to give an example, in the original graphic novel, Quatermain is found in an opium den fucked up beyond belief and in the midst of a slow suicide. The invisible guy is found because he'd been molesting girls in the guise of a "ghost" at an all-girl's school. Really disappointed in the flick, to be honest.

But yeah, the spidey movies have been great. X-Men have been really good, too. I also loved The Hulk movie. Another one of my favorite superhero movies (though, not based on a comic book superhero) was Unbreakable. Great flick.

I love all of these movies, but I'm most psyched for V for Vendetta. Just a week away!
