Subject: US all Business (in Medicine) Big shock, irght?

I just heard on the news that there is a promising new drug coming out that will make some significant advances in how people fight off cancer. It will be used for breast cancer and other types of cancer.

Here is the loophole. The pharmaceutical company that makes it will be charging about $100k a year for this treatment. This is FAR out of reach of the average person.

"Fuck you if you're poor, you deserve to die!"

I guess in the face of what is important here in this country you do deserve to die. Medicine along with the rich and powerful are sponsor�s of a man-made thinning of the herd. This is a sort of survival of the fittest bank accounts. Drug companies once again place a dollar value on human life. I guess everyone else can just go the normal route and hope not to die.

This makes me so mad.

Article from last summer. Now one of these is will be on the market or those who can afford the price tag.

The worst problem with modern medicine,to my mind, is not that the latest anti cancer drug costs so much, but that cheap and effective cancer cures have been around for years, and the people who invent them are driven underground, put out of business, or even killed. That carcinogenic substances continue to be sold, and used around the world, and Cancer Societies seem reluctant to mention this.
Big pharma worships money, and has never been in the business to help you or me.

You are totally correct!

It's all just so unfair really. The whole medical profession is set up to make money off of us not to help. Even as far as prevention and education are concerned, and don't even mention anything homeopathic to your doc. It's like your speaking an unheard of language.

This is totally unfair and it's true only, the rich are able to recieve the best care. I don't think insurance companies who cover prescriptions will be footing the bill either. Isn't the whole point about doctors and medicine is to make people heathy and it seems like $$$ hinders that.
