Subject: missing persons
There are a few conspicuously absent people from our new little home here. If any of you guys know how to contact these people, you should do so. I imagine they don't know about the AS forum, and therefore have no idea what happened at all:
Outshyned
wolfgangshine
killmenow11
amadaun
NBY
Iymlad
KevKool
(I've contacted the last two guys via email, hopefully they'll show up. I haven't talked to Kev in ages, so I don't even know if he has internet access right now....)
I'd also like to see aspen pop in, but I don't have any idea if he'd even be interested (or anyone else here would be interested in him coming by - and actually, I can think of a few other people who would fit in this latter category).
There's also a whole slew of OGs that haven't seemed terribly interested in posting in quite awhile and I'm sure some of you have already contacted them, but they might want to know about the existence of this place as well:
Tosh
laurieann
Madmotorflutter
Alicemudgarden
carson1
Just something to think about. I'm digging this place more than that AS(s) place, so I figure while we're waiting for our new home, the more the merrier here....
(and I'm sure I'm forgetting some people. I blame the drugs).

Re: missing persons -- tg, 17:38:50 01/24/06 Tue [1]
Outshyned posted on the forum and I PM'd her about it. I also told Christian because I told him about something else and mentioned it to him, and he still isn't here.
Aspen should pop in here if he's been at the AS forum ??? funny guy!
When the forum went down I told Lake because I have been in contact with her with email anyway and I thought she would tell Wolfy. I also knew NBY's email from the Ben Shepherd mailing list (robloader) and he wrote back but hasn't been here.
That's pretty good on my part considering I'm not an Original Gangster.
I would like to hear from Bette and Carson1.

Re: missing persons -- chrys, 17:55:25 01/24/06 Tue [1]
i saw outs logged in at AS so i PM'd her as well.
also a light pointed out to me that if ppl just got the msg this weekend and tried to come here, they would have gotten the error, so, something to consider.
maybe we can look through our PMs and contact the people who are on there? i don't know that i personally have many from ppl who aren't already here, lol. i second the notion of preferring this to the AS place.
yeah, where is kev?

As usual, you guys are smarter than I am. Well done, ladies. Keep up the good work.
And I don't know where Kev is. I just sent him the email today, we'll see if I get a response. Hopefully all is well in the Great White North.

"Hopefully all is well in the Great White North."
Personally for me all is well, but for the whole place it sucks. Some people elected a rightwing conservative dickwad for Prime Minister yesterday. He's going to "change" everything by reversing half of our rights that we have gotten and nothing will change for the better. I'll give it two years before people are bitching like crazy about him, I'll be saying "I said so". The only glory is, he's in a minority government so in other words he's on thin ice.

I also pm'd Outs, and asked Lake to find Wolfie. Pm'd Aspen and Angel too.
Shawnte of course, is aware of this place. When he gets his priorities straight he'll grace us with his presence.

Re: missing persons -- a light, 23:09:09 01/24/06 Tue [1]
Speaking of priorities, my top one was to get the word out to people who frequented the cc place exclusively (in my awareness) and would end up more in the dark, and without forum alternatives, than those who show up in various other places.
While we're discussing this-- think we should should start sending the url link out to AS sites etc.? Or should we wait a little longer?

I don't know about the rest of you, but I for one am liking this place the way it is. Aside from the obvious missing, do we really wanna invite the riff raff? I know the conversations might get somewhat more dramatic and heated, but I am rather enjoying the safety of not having to censor myself. I always did better in small groups anyway. Eventually, yeah, things will have to change.
(I will send out the voy signal to shades as well.)

No - I really like you. Even though we've never spoken outside the forum, you are like a pillar there and I just expect you to be around! :)
Also, what about Q & A? (I love calling them that) He has interesting things to post and she always posts about kick ass music!
Oh yeah - and I don't feel comfortable posting over on the AS forum because I'm not a fan. I have been checking my PMs though through there.

Glad you decided to join us, Iymlad.
I knew there would be about a thousand people my swiss-cheese brain would forget. Add shades to those already mentioned. I had his email at one point, but I can't find it for the life of me. And for some reason, I expected him to know about the AS site.
I'm not a real big AS fan either, but I have been doing some posting there (mostly on the politics page). Just don't know how else to blow off down time at work. One gets used to certain patterns, ya know?

Shades can be found at the audioslaved site and so can screamcage and others.
alight did ask if it was a good time to post the link to here on those sites.

P.S This place feels more comfortable for me, because I don't feel right about posting at a place that I'm not a fan of the band.At first it seemed logical to look there for answers to the CCforums shut down and ofcourse my curiousity got me lurking and I posted on a few threads.

Re: missing persons -- a light, 05:36:17 01/26/06 Thu [1]
Hi Chico! Glad to see you here!
Great to see you too Iymlad!
We're sure gathering a great crew here!
I've come to the conclusion that it would be a bad idea to send the link here to other places. First of all, we're doing a good job of alerting missing persons ourselves. Secondly, I personally have similar feelings as Leo does about the ambience of this place, and the way random strangers might alter it.
I was still open to the idea though, till last night when I decided to check out some other VoyForum sites. (oh, how I wish I went with EZboard). That was scary!
I went to the same section of listings that we're in:
http://www.voy.com/c/entertainment/music/
I looked at around 50 sites, and almost all of them were nothing but Spam! Subjects were just long, ongoing lists of online casinos, loan places, and pharmaceutical sites.
The Only forum (besides ours) that was functioning normally was RockGroupie.com! I had a phase of checking it out in the past, and it's one of the reasons I considered Voyforums as a place we could do this. The Groupieboard is very heavily monitored though, with user ISPs (or whatever) recorded, and each post having to be approved... delaying their display, sometimes for days. Obviously, that kind of monitoring doesn't suit us at all.
So I want to keep this place as safe as can be, to keep it private, and to do our best to keep it under the spam radar, if possible.
BTW RockGroupie is at:
http://www.voy.com/85692/
Check out the Chris/Susan thread there.... mmm... juicy gossip!
fave groupie quote: "hell, maybe he should sue susan to get his talent & integrity back!"
Oh Lotuuus....

I know alight that's how I heard about voyforums too! I was looking for an old book about rockgroupies and stumbled upon that forum. LOL It's a fun read, but I don't think those ladies get too much action. It's mostly gossip, and I did read the Chris and Susan thingy, and yeah Lotus they think Maynards hot too!!
I love the internet!!

Re: missing persons -- wolfgangshine, 13:00:02 02/03/06 Fri [1]
Awww, you guys are sweet, thinking about me. I've missed you all too. Lake sent me an e-mail a while back and I just had a chance to glance at it. I was on winterim vaca so I kind of let the computer cool off for a month or so. But I'm Baaccckkk. Can't stay away when I have homework to do and need something to distract me from it! (wouldn't be the same without you guys. I started going to the cc forum when I started back to school. You guys are inseperable to me! :)
Just wrote Lake back yesterday and checked out the url that a light had passed on. I had no idea what it was and thought you guys were gone forever. It just occured to me to check my private messages on the AS forum, cuz I never go there, I suppose.
\Good to see you all!
