Subject: Informative Material Re NASA

To those interested, an informative insert may appear in many Sunday June 17th or weekend newspapers. Contains interesting articles, photos, and indicates a website with more. Highly readable. Timely in view of space shuttle retirements. Kudos certainly in order to the brave men and women of NASA-astronauts, ground control, entire team.

The newspaper insert indicated the following website for additional info...very good...check it out:

www.Parade.com/space

(or your local newspaper)

An excellent collection of photos, articles, comments and quizzes.

It was 50 years ago this year that Alan B. Shepard became the first American in space on May 5, 1961. He was preceded by Russian Yuri Gagarin on April 12, 1961.

And of course this year marks the end of the Space Shuttle program.

Shepard's spacecraft was called Freedom 7. The last Space Shuttle to fly was Atlantis.
