A)FG 36

This introduced us to the FG serials, rocketships, our earthling friends, Ming, bad guys, colorful characters, monsters, some attractive people/love triangles. Also much action, swordfights, drama, various kingdoms/leaders, asst'd costumes. Personality clashes. Add ray guns and alien type devices/concepts, Zarkov's inventiveness, sparking machinery, betrayal, and the music in general. Break out the popcorn.

(A) FG 1936

Fast-paced, action-packed and suspenseful, it's like a comic strip brought to life. Which it is, of course, referring to the legendary Alex Raymond newspaper strip.

The casting is perfection, the sets and music memorable, it is arguably the greatest of all the movie serials.

Alternately known as Space Soldiers, I much prefer the original Flash Gordon title, despite my obvious alliance with Emperor Ming.

Officer Torch and Sergeant Tim, now those are real Space Soldiers!
