Sad to hear. I was impressed by her strong performance in the role as General Kala in the 1980 Flash Gordon film. Her talent was clearly evident, and she appeared as being an attractive woman as well. Condolences are in order.

I especially enjoyed her tactfulness near the end of the movie when Ming's palace was about to be attacked by Flash and the Hawkman during Ming's wedding to Dale. The city defenders seemed perplexed or confused on what to do. Gen. Kala smartly and authoritatively asked ..Are they in the proper approach pattern for today?..referring to rocket Ajax. When the radio man said no, Gen. Kala ordered to Open fire...All weapons. Also to charge the lightning shield of the city. Her character met her demise in a shoot out with Barin within the palace as I recall.

Note for 1980 FG film fans:FYI
If interested, there's a film I recently rented, but rough around the edges, R rated, mixed reviews, sometimes funny..but keep youngsters away. There's profanity, a pot smoking CG teddy bear, etc. However, fans of 1980 FG will see Sam J. Jones, moreso as he looks nowadays, in and out of costume...(a role within a role) in the movie TED, a comedy/fantasy.
