Subject: Flash Gordon (1936) In Theaters 75 Years Ago!

Flash Gordon (1936) premiered in the United States on April 6, 1936. Happy 75th Anniversary, Flash and Dale! (And Emperor Ming too, I don't want to get called on the carpet by Officer Torch, heh!)

Sergeant Tim:

Emperor Ming ordered me to dispatch this to you at once. The contents of his memo are as follows:

Heh! Very good Sergeant Tim. Your congratulatory remarks are to be commended for the most part and you will be royally rewarded when you visit my palace. HOWEVER, it seems that a message in some coded form intercepted by our radio operators, detect an unhappy voice.

Perhaps you, or that earthman Rick can decipher this. If I don't hear from you in a week, I will have my people decode with special personnel. The message is:

"smees uoy togrof ot edulcni rd vokraz"

If you can decipher, you will get a 75th Anniversary of a bobble head of Emperor Ming. You can obtain by visiting the gift shoppe in the palace on Mongo. Careful, its near a trap door to the dragon's lair. Heh.

Best Regard from Ming, Emperor of the Universe

After much study as well as consulting with Sergeant Time (we are enlisted men, after all) we have concluded that the mystery transmission reads: seems you forgot to include Dr Zarkov!

I am now clearing off the spot on the Stratosled dashboard where the 75th Anniversary tribute to Sire Ming will reside!

Sergeant Tim

No, no! Don't clean it off yet. It seems Emperor Ming is mulling this over now. Sergeant "Time" is presently wanted for treason. If you have indeed consulted with him, there may be problems, consequences. It would behoove you to offer some explanation about this.

(Gotcha)

Did I say Sergeant Time? I meant Sergeant Tom (ground control to Sergeant Tom!)

Until Emperor Ming renders his final decision regarding the 75th Anniversary bobble head, I will leave the Dale Arden photograph currently taped to the Stratosled dashboard in place (a photo probably left there by Flash Gordon when he commandeered the stratosled during an earlier altercation!)

OK Sergeant Tim...very good (and clever) explanations. Feel free to pick up your bobble head of Emperor Ming for the dashboard of your stratosled whenever you like. As a bonus for your explanation, you may also pick up a free copy of Les Preludes on your trip to Mongo. Make certain to radio the Palace station upon entering Mongo airspace, since they are not all familiar with "stratosleds" which are used on Mars. Ming does of course, but alert the radio room just in case anyway. Congratulations Sergeant Tim.
