Subject: Zarkov's prototype rocketships

In chapter one, we learn Zarkov made and sent prototypes into space and he mentions they were not meant to return. I assume he must had had some communication device in them, so he would know exactly where they went. Comments?

Assume nothing when it comes to these serials. Dunno, let's just say it was unspecified. Maybe he had some monitoring device, maybe not...perhaps just used visual means, maybe a telescope...we just don't know. Modelers have and still do send up model rockets. Often just visual observations used, and model rocket may have a parachute. More modern R/C equp models may give more feedback. Short story long, we just don't know...BUT, Zarkov was likely sharp enough to use something for feedback, he just did not say in the serial.
