Yes, these are cool parts...in Frigia that is. We see Frigia mostly toward beginning of 1940 serial. After FG is introduced to Queen Fria, and her Count Korro at a banquet at Prince Barin's palace in Arboria, there's talk that the earth can be saved from "The Purple Death" by mining polarite in Frigia, then depositing it on earth on a high mountain peak, which will then attract all the "Death Dust."

FG and friends eventually make the trip to Frigia, but their faces get a half second spray of Zarkov's "Contra-Freeze" solution to protect them from the bitter cold (but the Frigians are used to this cold). So, they go off to mine for polarite to counteract the death dust.

There are a couple chapters or so, and much contains footage from the classic silent "The White Hell of Pitz Palu." I also enjoy the dioramas with the rocket ships landing...they look similar to those from other FG serials, but are frosty snow and ice covered in appearance.

In Frigia, we see storms, terrible climate, mountain climbing, slips and falls, plus the rescue with the nightime march of the torches music FG fans enjoy. Barin is badly hurt in a fall, Zarkov's solution might be wearing off, and they are freezing in a deep chasm thanks to Capt.Torch dropping a bomb near them which caused an avalanche. Of course, they are rescued. Much of the footage came from the silent movie "The White Hell of Pitz Palu."

Later on, after rejuvenating, they continue mining...but are then attacked by Ming's remote controlled robots called "annihilatons" which give shocks, explode, and controlled by Capt.Torch in a nearby rocket.

Guess my favorite parts in Frigia are the dioramas when the rocket ships land, the music from the Pitz Palu segment (USA release version in 1930)..often called the march of the torches by serial fans. I'm amazed that tiny spray of Zarkov's cold antidote, applied almost hastily worked! But, most of his inventions did, so what else is new.

We find Count Korro, Queen Fria's counselor, met his fate. However, the captured General Lupi, a Frigian of high rank awaiting the Death Dust Chamber, was saved by FG...and he was impatient waiting in the getaway rocket ship, insisting they take off without FG! Never cared for his cowardly behavior.
