Subject: The Tunnel of Terror is being remodeled

This is a proclamation by his Imperial Majesty for the Tunnel of Terror to undergo some major renovations. This will commence shortly due to the interference and tactics of Flash Gordon, Dr. Zarkov, Prince Barin and their party.

The tunnel and its vast array of catacombs will be closed at all entrances and the only access is by official permission of Ming's fiercest and loyal officers. This does not include the traitorous Captain Sudan and his minions, as he's really working with Barin. Now that Ming is aware of this, not only is Sudan not allowed under the palace, but is a more suitable candidate for the torture chamber.

Major renovations will include a series of new gongs and those appointed by the High Priest to man them and not be subject to betraying his Majesty. The new gongs will be placed in many locations that are unknown to the Earth people and many new inventions and lethal traps to destroy the Earth people have been tried and tested successfully. This will include deadly rock slides and trap doors that lead to bottomless pits that go deep under the surface of Mongo.

The Fire Monsters and Gocko are on a more lean diet to increase their lethal behavior in killing the Earth people. Also in the way of refinements is the inclusion of an ancient temple that was recently discovered and will be manned by Mongo's most highest temple priests and assistants. These individuals will specialize in the use and deployment of mind-altering drugs that can be used directly with an intruder and also, the installation of unseen memory drugs in gaseous form that can render the earth people harmless and they will be relegated to the palace and servents to the Imperial Ming. And of interest, Dr. Zarkov's use of countering these drugs will be useless, as Ming's scientists have made sure they are well beyond his reach of finding a resolution. This will finally render the Earth people to no threat to his Imperial Majesty and we look forward to their first attempt when the tunnel opens in the near future.

Some Suggestions from the Palace Guards

To His Imperial Majesty Ming, and The High Priest

Chatter amongst the guards in palace corridors, and leaks by some of the scientists, have indicated updates in the tunnels for some time already, so, the proclamation is not necessarily news, but solidifies the talk. Some suggestions have been proposed by the palace guards/staff, and there is an important point to be concerned about.

It seems the Emperor's scientists have discovered time travel means as well as interplanetary ventures at warp speeds. Earth's movie channels have apparently also been monitored, and some ideas have been...borrowed?? For example, a James Bond 007 movie, The Man With the Golden Gun, shows a fun house-like maze with mirrors and such to trap. Also, Indiana Jones type movies, National Treasure, and many others have given our Emperor Ming ideas. It is rumored something called a computer, and robotics may also be employed, as well as the latest camera/televisor technology.

Dr. Zarkov was always more than a thorn to be dealt with...and while his devices to counteract Emperor Mings were often effective, Mongo's scientists have found means to offset this. HOWEVER, it has come to my attention, unbenownst to many, that Dr. Zarkov had a brilliant younger nephew with ideas perhaps far surpassing Zarkov, and possibly Mongo's scientists! We think there may be a connection with Sergeant Tim, who may even be the nephew!

Sergeant Tim MUST be called upon for questioning at once.
