Notice how Vader would shake his fist, just like Ming did? Yes! Flash and Luke has some kind of similarity, as Harrison Ford had remarked about this when casting was being done in 1975.

Classical pieces like Les Preludes were recorded for the 1940 serial and many years later, Lucas wanted this same type of music used for his Star Wars films. Not copycat, but original compositions that did include some classics weaved in, but no Preludes was used in the SW films.

I love the music enough that I made some copies of it for my stratocar. I love "Sonata in B" (FG fight music), "Apassionatto" (ditto) but I really love it all! It would be hard to think of FG without the music.

The unfortunate part is (as has been said before) that so much of the non-classical material such as from "Bombay Mail", etc. has never been recorded with full modern technology; we are that much poorer as a result. This music is so very rich that is cries out for attention.
