Officer Torch is right, the fanbase for the Flash Gordon and Buck Rogers serials (as well as the Universal horror and drama films) is aging and gradually shrinking, and the bad economy has not helped matters in terms of recruiting potential new fans to purchase these wonderful science fiction relics. A new movie might generate some fresh interest in Flash Gordon, but I don't know if today's younger movie audiences would subsequently gravitate to or appreciate the black & white Buster Crabbe serials that we all relish here.

I have the three FG Image serials, plus an extra of FG '36, and should pick up extras of the other two in light of recent developments. The prices are a real bargain.

I still haven't picked up a copy of Buck Rogers, but I see that the 70th Anniversary Edition (released in late 2009) is one of VCI's current bestsellers. I assume this is the version that Torch spotted at a B&N store. VCI carries many unique titles, including The Green Hornet (1940) with Gordon Jones and Keye Luke as Kato. They also carry the complete Honey West (1965-1966) television series, starring the lovely Anne Francis. VCI has a website, check it out if you haven't already.
