Subject: Mars Soundtrack by Pelican Records (1976)

As I suspected, the soundtrack was culled from an old film print that had everything you'd normally hear just like when viewing it on TV or video. 33 RPM can't hold a 5-hour music score either. Also, you can't take the music or any sound channel, so you just hear that alone. The sounds are all re-recorded and mixed on the final sound tape and edited to match the film prints at the studio. The only way to hear the music, vocals or effects individually would be to have the original tape reels the studio made them on. Those were destroyed long ago in the studio fire. Secondly, the nitrate optical music tracks no longer exist.
