I just dleted a whole buch of other possabilities cause the memory of a song older than even me - and I may even be your moms age! YIKES!

ONE TIN SOLDIER!!!! IT IS PERFECT! I even googled the lyrics - I think it was written sometime in the 60's so researcg it so you can say to your teacher someone said that the way you described the book sounded like this really old song! So you looked into it!
