Newburgh hasn't done anything to improve its situation for over 60 years and to think that it will do anything to change now is insanity. The good old hard working people have left either by moving away or dying off. Of the kids who graduated out of the schools, when the schools were actually institutions of learning got their degrees and RAN as far away as they possibly could and never looked back. What was left were the dregs and the population has been incestuous ever since until the influx of the rejects from other places. It's all a repeat of the 40s when the buses rolled in from the south, packed with Welfare grabbers. They stayed. Then came the "migrants" who brought the BBK and that sort because the gangs knew that the pickin's were good for mules and other drug runners. It took the federal government to roundup that crew but even that was like trying to surgically remove cancer: miss a drop of (the) Blood(s) and it all just reappears someplace else. No matter how you shake it, Newburgh is a little penal colony. It's the perfect place because, at least proper law enforcement knows where the derelicts are, all together in one place. It's a little Petri dish of bacteria and viruses, reproducing their own in one place. So if anybody honestly believes that anything good, proper, civil will come of the Raymond Bryant/Omari Shakur/Lily Howard fiasco they're just delusional (which isn't unusual for Newburgh). Howard-Bryant-Shakur is the Newburgh norm, it's what Newburgh is and what Newburgh will be until somebody finally finishes the job that was started in the 60s and the place is completely levelled. Of course, even then, no doubt, there will be the dregs who will adapt to desolation, probably pitch some kind of tents, then build shanties and do what vermin do - reproduce and just recreate another loosers' paradise.
