Well would you look at that! The Newcomers are actually waking up and doing their homework! Now even they know about Newburgh's 1950s. I wonder who dragged them into the reality of the town they came to conquer. (Obviously they lost by the way.)

The way I see it we do need business to come back into the city. But there's no placd to offer a business. The few buildings we have left are in bad shape and in neighborhoods that are even worse! We have a lot of churches and so called churches in those neighborhoods too. Maybe preachers should start preaching some R.E.S.P.E.C.T. Not just S.E.L.F. but C.O.M.M.U.N.I.T.Y.! Clean it up, then build it back up. Turn it back into a safe place and then some person or company won't feel threatened. Customers won't either.

For those who know we used to manufacture here. Lawn mowers, textiles, pocketbooks and handbags. Hell we even had ship building. Then we got sold into the river.

We had Joe Mitchell who tried his best to make things better and almost succeeded too. But what it takes is people who are interested in something more than their own little piece of town. And what it takes is for the dumbasses to see that by improving the neighborhood you improve the area and that improves the city and that improves your miserable little life.

I sure as hell hope folks like Mrs. Ewing don't find themselves being forced out of here. I'm goddam sick and tired of Newburghers being shoved out! Specially when the pushiest shovers are in OUR government. They're our employees. It's in good business sense to fire the bunch of them outright. They already proved they can't do the job.

That's my take on it. Like it or not.
