Excellent questions, all of which have been posted and asked many times and never answered. There's no accountability for anything in Newburgh and nobody seems to have the dignity to step up and be forthright. The last time anything good happened here was in the 1950's when the Citizens Committee took charge. The budget was balanced, taxes were actually eliminated, businesses improved and Newburgh was "All American City".

You might start to help by getting more people to participate here. It's a known fact that there are a lot of eyes peeking in in this board but no serious comments are coming. Look at the TBYB thread. Excellent idea and a positive thread. It obviously died because of nonparticipation. Probably because elected and assigned politicians and uninterested people saw to it that it wouldn't live. Why? Nobody's pockets would get stuffed with cash, nobody in the public eye could steal the credit, the criminal element here couldn't benefit and no money could be funneled south.

You're not alone in your search for TRUTH. You're just part of a very tiny group who cares and will say so. Numbers us what makes a difference and when more serious people come forward it will make a difference. I love this board! The papers can edit what they want to print. Other boards edit, delete and block opinions. Unless it's just plain stupid this board is open to everybody! And it's FREE in more ways than one. It really is the voice of Newburgh and the place where action and accountability can happen. It got cleaned out when a certain group of people felt threatened and posted a lot of crap and tried to bring it down. If it's that strong something must be good otherwise it would be ignored. Obviously people are reading it but people need to participate. Then someplace your TRUTH will come out.

It's been 50 years since Newburgh was good. I remember the Joe Mitchell days. He cared about us and we cared about him. 50 years. It's time to care again!
