People have just allowed a government in city hall with no accountability for so long that it's become acceptable. I think the expression is "like sheep to the slaughter". When there's been a crisis in Newburgh it makes a headline for a while and people comment but then it disappears. Nothing ever really gets solved. It just gets buried under the next crisis. Questions never get answered they just get replaced by new questions. That's the way it goes. To allow these gangs to multiply is just another part of the ongoing problem. It didn't happen in a day. They didn't all come to town at once. But if we look at the responses to anything that goes wrong in Newburgh it usually stops when some loud mouth gets into the news yelling racism. We know who perpetrates our worst crimes and where they happen. It's always in the same neighborhoods and committed by the same element. That element is the illegal population who have established an illegal business and will fight to continue that business. Sadly the race issue works in Newburgh. No matter what the truth is if somebody says racism justice dies. Look at the population if North Miller and what they're always allowed to get away with even when it's reported. Why? Because somebody claims the white minority is racist. The gangs know this works too so they use it to their advantage. It has always worked and nobody stops it. Look at our council. How do you think that got that way? It's all planned and until people stop the cycle of intimidation it won't ever stop. The rest of the educated world us in the 21 century but Newburgh is still stuck in the 1960s. The naive liberals and the laid back liberals just roll with everything. Like they say, you get what you ask for. The only way to get away to a better life is to leave because sense is outnumbered until the clean up gets started around here.
