It's a lot easier to tone it down if need be than to "kick it up a notch" at the last minute. Be prepared to go glitz, but use your own judgement based on what everyone else in your group is doing and what you and your daughter are most comfortable with. If the contestant is not comfortable for any reason (intimidation perhaps) it will surely show in their faces on stage. It's a "wait and see" judgement call.
