I'd go with the 302 and C-4 (I want to put one in Shannon's Falcon). I don't really know all the year interchanges and such, but being a Ford, I would highly recommend an engine, torque converter, tranny and starter that all came out of the same car....and to know the year model of that car....it will save a lot of headaches getting it all to match up and will make it a hell of a lot easier when you're dealing with parts house guys.
