I got the front fender semi welded back together enough to bolt it on the '62 Chebby truck. I also got the left bed side sanded and painted and the new tail light assembly put on that side. I bought some good junk yard tires for the front and got those mounted. They're 215/75/15s. They're a bit taller than I would have liked, but they were 40 bucks, mounted. Beggars can't be choosers.

Those of you that were there for the motor swap day may remember the grinding sound coming from the left front wheel that acted like a stuck brake shoe. Turns out it was a pretty easy fix. It was a combo of two problems. One, the 14" wheel that was on there had massive rear offset, so it was rubbing the A arm. Also, the douche that once had this truck had "packed the wheel bearings" by cramming a whole bunch of grease on the OUTSIDE of the nut, under the dust cap. He never bothered to pull the nut and pack behind the bearing keeper. It was also slopping in and out on the spindle about 3/8". I pulled the nut, repacked the bearings, put it back together right and put the 15" wheels on it. It rolls like a new truck now.

We were having all sorts of trouble with Vanessa's truck. Go figure. It's a Ford. Anyway, turns out we had the dizzy in 180 degrees off. Of course, being the blue oval beauty that it is, the dizzy is supreme mother fucker to get back in. That stupid hexagonal post that slips into the bottom fell into the hole and got itself wedged all cock eyed. I had to got to Harbor Freight and get a skinny little telescoping magnet to fish the sumbitch outta there. We finally got it back together and running after only 3 or 4 small carb fires. I think once I replace the cheesy J.C. Whitney accelerator pedal assembly, It will be rollin' fine. Speaking of which, does anyone have an accelerator assembly from a Jap pickup? I used a Mazda pickup assembly on my 55 Customline with a Lokar cable and it worked like a champ. Lemme know.

That about catches everyone up. Oh, by the way. Any of you bowtie guys out there know a good trick for removing the rear main seal on my 305 so I can put in the new one. I've done everything but buy a laser cannon and it's stuck like a bastard. I don't want to have to take it to the machine shop.

Later, Y'all
