Subject: South Seas Re-Opens 3/17/06 & all of SS opens 6/06!

I spoke with a rep. @ South Seas Resort and great news - South Seas Resort on Captiva is finally re-opening after Hurricane Charley hit on Aug. 13th, 2004. They say March 17th is a "soft opening" (Beach Villas open) and that they are already sold-out but come June ~all~ of South Seas Resort will be up and running. It has been a long wait and we have received an overwhelming amount of emails regarding their re-opening. This will be good for Captiva.

It is a must-see with a grand new entrance and a new luxurious Reception Center. Old favorites and new looks include enchanting new shopping and dining venues.

A compilation of the latest news on South Seas: La Caravel (formerly King's Crown) overlooking the lawns and Pine Island Sound, is South's Seas' finest dining establishment and emerges with a bigger bar for entertainment, outside seating, a casual and formal menu. 100 years of history are restored and the original fireplace remains.

Porter House Restaurant for the finest seafood and steak dinners; Chadwick's is ideal for casual breakfast, lunch or dinner spilling out onto the terrace, and nightly buffets representing the best of dining.

The Point at Captiva Island Club (formerly Mariner Hall)overlooking the pool club, this new establishment offers second story seating with panoramic views. Choose from covered or open air seating and enjoy the sounds of live entertainment. The casual grill menu offers a range of selections, daily specials and light fare.

The Boat House (formerly Cap'n Al's) offers a new health-happy menu serving breakfast, light lunch and dinner. Pick up a delicious ice cream concoction at Scoops and watch a movie on the outdoor screen.

Later this spring is the debut of two new lagoon style pools overlooking the water, one of which will feature a "floating bar" and three floors of sunset dining. The family pool features a children's castle and waterslide. The adult pool is encircled with private, luxury cabanas for rent. Cabana amenities include DVD players, plasma tv's, refrigerators, cable, internet and phone access-your cabana steward attends to your every need.

Golfers will enjoy Redfish Point Golf Course where nearly every hole offers a view of the Gulf of Mexico.
