I have re read about Mac seeing the blood on his hand. We all know as Mac did that he didnt it get the way he explained. I dont like the Vampire theory. But I can see Barrons feeding the Shades. Barrons powers are like Dageus when he was possessed by the 13. I am waiting on the release of Bloodfever, hoping this to be explained.

Remember back in Dark Highlander Dageus could move across the room quickly (so can Barrons). And with Barrons being able to leap from tall buildings, etc. it reminded me of Dageus when he had the power of the 13. Do you have any thoughts, old or new? I am new here and havent read much of the past post.

Thinking about Barrons and thought of the time V'Lane offered Mac the bracelet for protection. Could this be the same kind of bracelet that Barrons wears? Is this what protects Barrons from the Shades? Barrons knows V'Lane.

I think except for Vlane, the cuffs show the clan or rank (Adam) in your clan. The cuffs might have been for display but I think they had a purpose in telling others who you were. Sounds good anyway....

Could it be that the cuffs, etc. could show what clan & what rank within your clan you were? I know on the 4 house princes, the torque showed a prince (ie gold torque Adam). It makes sense to me that the cuffs could declare clan & rank. Didn't it mention in fever that JB had a black & silver torque? Could that show a "lesser" prince or show rank higher than regular people but not a Prince? I don't know if I am making sense, this is a thought forming in my mind and it is not complete yet.

Didn't Gueen A turn Darroc into a mere mortal? I haven't gone back and read yet to see if I am right. Maybe somebody knows and can save me the trouble of looking. If she did turn him into a mortal, how did he get the powers back? If he did gain powers back, why couldn't Adam (even with a soul)?

Claudia, are you saying that though Darroc is mortal, he still has the knowledge of the fae powers and the fae memories? Seems Queen A is too smart to allow him the fae memories. I had assumed he was just a mere mortal, though retained the good looks of the fae, but had no memory of the fae or their power; if he did that really could explain a lot that is going on.

I really enjoy your postings!! Don't stop. Thanks for the comment on the clan ranking jewelry, it's to have someone agree with you! I do think that makes alot of sense.

Hi,
I'm new to the board, and I've been reading some of the comments and they are all very interesting. I've re-read Darkfever and although I haven't read the booklet, and I don't know if any of JB's habits have changed. But in Darkfever, JB only saw Mac at night, never in the daylight. Doesn't that strike anyone as odd? He also knows a lot about vampires. Could he be a vampire?

Hi Claudia,

Nice to meet you too. I missed the message from Cheryle that talked about the vampire theory. It just seems that JB has a lot of knowledge about vampires, and with the human blood on his hand, and only being seen at night, I thought it was a possibility. I can't see him being fae, possibly a druid, but he does possess powers that are difficult to explain for a druid. I'm thinking you may be right that KMM may have a surprise for us when it comes to JB. Maybe a whole new kind of "being". She's just so darn creative!
