I spoke with Spade, and one thing became clear when I did. Given the opportunity, she would use my children against me without a second thought.
My decision would be a hasty one. I snuck off the Vipers Bite and left only a note for Lucas.
I managed to get to the Cricket, and her sails set before Lucas caught up. I did not bargain on how angry he would be.
There was just no time to think about it.
I am now on board the Palmyra (at his demand), and we sail north as fast as we can. I have poured over the maps that we have and believe I have found a port where we can uload the Cricket and I can be on my way to Phyrexia by land.
Then Lucas can take the Palmyra, and the Cricket for that matter, and go and get the Vipers Bite back if it has not crashed on the rocks.
It means we will be seperated, but his ship is a great loss to him, and I understand his wanting it back.
I want only to get back to the twins and Rose. She will be so happy to have Ox back.
I have not thought much about the future past that.
Let us see if I get back to the twins alive first.
