I am getting a little stir crazy. Kain came in very drunk, this waiting getting to him too. He muttered something about finding a house, but we will have to wait and see on that. He brought back a wanted sign (still on its post, for Gods sake)stating my description and that I was "wanted for questioning". I had intended to make a cartographer my one and only stop if not one for food tomorrow, but I have another appointment now. One with the man in the red robes. Questioning indeed. I am but a hired hand here, midwife and maid (I do groan as I write this), to a pregnant woman and her drunken, merc of a husband. Let him question away. I shall have all answers for him..for what could the wench have said? Nothing but that I offered her help, thats all. Not my fault I look like half the towns women, with dark hair and dark eyes. He shall be lucky that I show up at all, to put to rest his ill faith in me! Meanwhile, Kain believes he can send our missives with his arcane magic. I hope he is right, for otherwise, all might be lost simply due to lack of time. The girl has written hers..but first we will send the false note from Grisholm. If I find a cartographer that knows where Magas is..if I dont get thrown in a cell somewhere due to questioning gone wrong..and if Kain can stay sober long enough..we just might be able to pull this off. Ah, I laugh now, it sounds so ridiculous, for the odds are not in our favor. I laugh often these days, simply because it feels good to do so, and because I enjoy these thrills with a body that is more able to take it. If we pull this off, Ill take the time off I need. Find some little ranch up in the hills, or a cottage near the seaside, and just rest awhile. Perhaps Kain will stay awhile too.
