I think this depends on the life a person has led. I suppose that most would want some reminder of who they were, but I would be willing to bet that there are many who would not.

I can easily picture someone whose life has been traumatic enough to want to 'escape' their life and become someone completely different. This would provide an avenue of expression for those desires and they may never look back.

It makes one wonder though, would this be a great strength or a weakness when one enters a world this dark?
