 sbcc opened in 1998 inmates came in sept/ oct but as everyone knows as a joke we were not going to be a max,and that was okay, so we really became a medium and it was okay, we realize that real soon. Walpole was still walpole. now 2009 with the bed shortage we changed to double bunking in what we call the shirley max.no officer at sbcc would ever take anything away from a walpole officer how could we, we wouldn't know what it was to be a walpole officer, and we honestly felted they were much better than we ever could be, that was then, but sadly we now know better than that, now after being faced with the "walpole inmate" at sbcc we have inmates stand for count..... walpole didn't make them.. the one simple thing to teach new inmates coming into the system, and they could not do it, was it laziness or what, how simple could it have been to teach an inmate scared to death to be in the system for the first time to stand for count. Walpole was never double bunked, and now we are still are trying to teach an old inmate 2 new rules, doulbe bunking and standing for count.and it doesn't work but sbcc still tries,any officer at walpole should take a step back before jugdeing any officer at sbcc we are making up for your short comings or lack of working with inmates, blocking windows and ect... it hard to fix old habits that are set in by impowering inmates right from the start, now we are dealing with the results of a walpole office lack of working with an inmate....
