There is an arbitration ruling from several years back that says, because the DOC does NOT have a standard sick note form they must be flexible on what they accept. Obviously, if you needed to take your child to the ER and stayed home that day or the next day you would be covered. I'm sure their argument is that the note didn't say you needed to be home with your child. You'll win that one easily, that's just more DOC harassment.
