Subject: Mild season 4 rumours/spoilers, straight from the horses mouths!

I bring delicious spoilery bits from the latest Battlestar Galactica convention in the UK (G3)... We had Tahmoh (who flew in the Friday afternoon), Alessandro, Rekha and Leah Cairns (Racetrack) as guests (they were supremely awesome, but this is not the place for that!), and we got a few bits from them...

1) Alessandro said he's got to explore his working relationship with Tahmoh a lot more this season, because their characters have split off "into a splinter group thats forming"...

2) Leah said that they were very recently filming a scene with all the military peeps in their proper, formal attire (which she'd never worn before)... coupled with the constant cries of "the body counts keep rising, y'all!", we were thinking funeral.

3) Alessandro also said that Gaeta will "have an affinity with Tiny Tim (from A Christmas Carol) this season" - which to me smells like a crippling... He's also not had the chance, as of 4x10, to work onscreen with James Callis.

4) Tahmoh informed us that they've recast the little girl that plays Hera for the new season. He's also had the opportunity to work a lot more with Mary McDonnell this season, as well as having a large role in the midseason two-parter...

5) Both Michael Trucco and Callum Keith Rennie were scheduled to attend (Tahmoh and Alessando were their replacements), but had to pull out due to last-minute filming issues. The crew were wrapping up 4x10, before a 6-week hiatus for the writers to hammer out the final episodes, so we can assume both Anders and Leoben are sticking around AT LEAST until then.

I have to look up some of the actors names, as I'm not sure who a few of them are. (bad fan) The recast of Hera must mean that she's a little older. I wonder if there will have been some time passed between seasons. Thanks for the update ABM!

There was an impromptu improv session with the cast, and one of the audience members asked them to re-enact the opening scene from season four... I don't know if they were being serious or not, but they left it to Rekha (Tory), who proceeded to go OTT with the "oh my god, I'm a Cylon!" in the CIC, so it sounds like they're picking up right where we left off (after Razor, natch).

I search the net and have a tough time finding spoilers and Spoilerfix isn't covering it. I'm just so glad you started this. I will keep searching and post anything I do find. I have a feeling their set is pretty tight.

Midseason, three Cylon models are rumoured to be boxed, permanently. Ausiello goes on to say that the three models will be all of the same sex, although this isn't confirmed yet.

Speculation at the moment seems to lead to it being either the Cavils, Dorals and Simons *or* the Threes (who's getting unboxed; Lucy Lawless is back midseason for two or three episodes), Sixes and Eights (minus Athena and Caprica, natch).

In terms of storyline, I could see reasons for both groups being viable - with the men, it could be simply a matter of "tying up loose ends" as they head into the final arc. With the women, it would lend itself to the storylines of Athena and Caprica - both of them would, effectively, be human, as they've now achieved the pinnacle of humanity - mortality.

That's another reason I firmly believe Caprica is dust by season's end - her storyline is *all* about becoming human, and to fully achieve that she has to "achieve" death, because that is the one hard difference between Cylons and humans.

I'd prefer it be the guys simply because they are not as interesting to me. I love all the female cylons and find all of their variations interesting. I do get what you're saying about Caprica Six though. I'm still wondering what they are going to do with the "new" cylons. Will they come out within the fleet? What will eventually happen to them? Will they be triggered in some way? There was a reason they heard the Hendrix song, and I'm dyin' to know why!

It was a trigger left by themselves, or some other version of themselves, to "reboot" their Cylon circuitry should humanity ever come this way - I'm thinking that finding Earth isn't going to be the good thing they're hoping for, and that the "final five" are somehow going to be needed to help avert a disaster that could befall the entire human race.

I agree about the Earth thing. Especially if Starbuck ends up being one of the final five. Maybe they are the founders of Earth in some way and Starbuck's "reboot" is related to their triggering. It is interesting that the 4 that were revealed are all in strategically important roles on the ship. Ok, I really just can't wait now!

But they were the leaders of the rebellion on New Caprica!

Those groups of three bring deep meaning like a quest for humanity in only some of the characters.

What else do they bring to the plot?

The men are aggressively anti-human - the war mongers.
The women are progressively moving toward a less violent approach. Three underwent quite a change when she got hold of Hera. Athena and Caprica are seeking humanity outright.

I think that boxing the women is a return to the Cylon strategy of genocide - just in time to include the Earth. Boxing the men moves the whole Cylon race in the direction Caprica is going.

Besides, I really don't want to see Boomer boxed.

I think we'll see her again, but if we don't (or we only see her when the Eights get boxed)? Then Boomer's arc has really been the most tragic storyline to exist in this universe.

Boxing the men could happen. Ron Moore has said in a few interviews that this year will see old alliances crumble and surprising new alliances take shape.

Neat board, ABM. Should we call it the Halloween board for the black and orange colors? No, maybe just orange board.

Great spoilers, too. Haven't found any around the web, but haven't looked very hard.

Mmmm. Racetrack.

But both she and Rekha Sharma are *tiny* in real life! Like, I was tempted to buy them a burger rather than a beer!
