In reply to: Tired of the cliques and the same old same old 's message, "I have a question....why is it only specific ladies are talked about when there are so many great ladies competing? I personally would love to see someone new win. I am tired of seeing all the talk about the same 5 women especially if a couple of those are very rude and snobby. I do like Hannah J. though. She seems to be a lovely young lady with depth." on 01/ 2/18 9:29:03pm

For the most part, I don't think that the same names popping up on the boards have anything to do with cliques, but I do think that the other responses carry a bit of truth in them towards answering your initial question.

I don't claim to be a regular poster, super knowledgeable about a lot of the contestants, or keep stats on state or national placements, but it does appear that those that have competed more than once tend to do better. It used to be uncommon for a complete newbie to snag the title, and it's resulted in a lot of mixed....results/observations....whether on the national stage or as a representative of our great state. (Not meant to stir up anything from the past or present.)

As others pointed out, a lot of the ladies that consistently make it into Top 15 and continue to progress towards Top 5 have been on people's radars throughout the years and have evolved throughout that time. Even the perceived "favorites" started off somewhere, even though we may not be aware of it right away.

But who else may we be missing? I think a lot of us would be interested to know about potential high performer contestants, even if their names are not brought up until after the Miss pageant's finals tomorrow.
