Subject: Im starting to have second thoughts about giving out scoresheets at the pageants. Every pageant I'm at the moms are raising a stink with the judges and the directors. Those are only given so you can see what you need to work on to get better, not used to harrass the judges and directors. I'm just not sure about that rule.

[> The mom's are so rude when they do get a scoresheet they go up to the judges and harrass them. No one wants to put up with that. Why don't you just ask them how to improve your dd ??? You don't have a right to be rude to them or the director. -- Anonymous, 08:01:17 11/11/07 Sun [1]

[> I personally like getting the scores so we know how to improve and would never go to the judges...some pageants email or mail the scores out the following week, therefore the rude mom's can't get in their faces if they don't get the scores they want. -- Anonymous, 10:28:21 11/11/07 Sun [1]

[> We like recieving the score sheets. I may not always agree with some of what they say but they are the experts not me. This way I can see what we need to do different next time to come home with that title. -- Anonymous, 13:05:58 11/11/07 Sun [1]

[> I think it is just a few of the moms that makes the rest of us look bad. I don't know why they would harrass the judges or director over their scores. I would be embarrased to do that. -- Anonymous, 13:37:32 11/11/07 Sun [1]

[> I have judged at the national level c/i: -- Anonymous, 06:51:25 11/13/07 Tue [1]

I must tell you, I have almost been attacked by upset moms and dads. It's my opinion and only my opinion it's not the end of the world or life altering. Not every child is a 10 but they are all beautiful...remember beauty is in the eye of the beholder. The very sad part is the parents are causing all the fuss in front of their children, now that is not right.

[> [> new pm here chiming in. We have done 6 large pageants and 3 local pageants. In the 6 large pageants we have seen everything from a couple of moms going off to other moms right behind the director yelling that their child did not get judged right, to being at a pageant where all the moms just took their score sheets, glanced at the master and went their merry way. I personally look at the master to see where we need to improve also. I can gauge my daughter's scores based on how I THINK my daughter did to how the judges thought she did compared to the one(s) who won over her did. I definitely don't get upset at anybody but myself wondering what I could have done differently with my child to make her do better. The moms I see who get upset at the judges and the director are also the ones who are yelling at their girls after each time on stage and before going on, VERY PATHETIC in my opinion. These are the moms who make it hard on the rest of us who are doing this for the fun of it. -- Anonymous, 12:30:03 11/13/07 Tue [1]

[> [> [> I agree too not all PM act like major drama queens . You find that in all competition baseball, cheer ,competive dance, drama mamas and dads too making a big stink over something Oh I know things can happen that may not be fair but no need to make a scene. One time we did this charity pageant and they had 3 judges at 2 tables my daughter was under 2 anyway while my daughter was the 1st table the girl ahead of her was at the 2nd table and she had a radio on so she could dance well my daughter was so fixated on that music she didn't even look at the judges at the first table all she did was say Bye then we went to second table and she did great she was so cute and a little ham she ended up getting 3rd place . -- Anonymous, 15:39:29 11/13/07 Tue [1]

[> I think its a good rule its a way to keep the director from cheating if she knows everyone will be looking at their scores then it prevents problems too I don't understand why parents would go talk to the judges anyway if you give a judge a hard time it could really hurt your child later I don't want a judge to remember oh that child's Mom was a drama queen to me and then lower scores I never talk to the judges . -- Anonymous, 15:27:47 11/13/07 Tue [1]

[> [> **I agree! I do talk to them, but only to engage in a quick hand-shake and "thank you." Judges shouldn't let a mom influence their scoring, but they're only human and we all know it happens. -- Anonymous, 06:14:20 12/01/07 Sat [1]

[> I always wait until we get home, then I looks at the score sheets. By then I can look at them more objectively. Then I show them to my dd (she started at 10 yrs and is now 15yrs). Most of the time the judges are correct and she takes their comments (good or bad) and works on correcting her mistakes. -- Anonymous, 16:09:11 11/14/07 Wed [1]

[> The director should say in their paperwork and before the pageant starts that score sheets will be handed out after the pageant. BUT - if anyone makes a scene in the ballroom, their title and prizes will be pulled immediately and they will be banned from the system. END OF PROBLEM! -- Anonymous, 16:43:30 11/14/07 Wed [1]
