This photo was published on 12th October, three days before the final night. Beauties from all over the globe pose before the photographers a few hours before the contest for the election of Miss World 1956 that will take place tonight at the Lyceum Theater in London. In front, from left to right: Austria, Margaret Scherz; Miss Belgium, Madeleine Hotelet; Miss Denmark, Anne Rye Nielsen; Miss Egypt, Norma Dugo; Miss Finland, Sirpa Helena Koivu; Miss France, Genevieve Solare; Miss Germany, Petra Schürmann; Miss England, Iris Waller; Miss Greece, Maria Paraloglou and Miss Netherlands, Ans van Pothoven. Back, also from left to right: Ireland, Amy Kelly; Miss Israel, Rina Weiss; Miss Japan, Midoriko Tokura; Miss South Africa, Norma Vorster; Miss Sweden, Eva Bränn; Miss Switzerland, Yolanda Daetwyler; Miss Tunisia, Pascaline Agnes; Miss Turkey, Suna Tekin and Miss U.S.A., Betty Cherry. Miss Venezuela, Celsa Pieri, who represents Latin America, was not present yet.
