This photo was published on 17th October, two days after the final night. Miss Germany, Petra Schurmann (2nd from left), sits in London after being crowned Miss World 1956 in a contest against leading beauties from nations over the world. From left: Miss Israel, Rina Weiss was third; Miss Germany, Petra Schurmann, was the winner; Miss U.S.A., Betty Lane Cherry was second and Miss Japan Midoriko Tokura was fourth.
