Miss World 1956. Interesting Facts 4.

Miss New Zealand, Jeannette de Montalk, vanished from her hotel in London on the day of the Press Presentation. Two days later, she was found by a journalist in Birmingham. She said that she was too shy to compete in a swimsuit before hundreds of people and she only had normal clothes. Mr. Morley convinced her to participate even if she had to wear a swimsuit.
