This photo was published on 22nd July, the day of the final night. These five international beauties were among the semifinalists competing for the world’s beauty crown and the title of Miss Universe at Long Beach, California. From left to right: Miss Sweden, Hillevi Rombin; Miss U.S.A., Carlene King Johnson; Miss England, Margaret Rowe; Miss Sri Lanka (Ceylon), Maureen Hingert and Miss El Salvador, Maribel Arrieta. The girls themselves voted Miss El Salvador the most popular girl in the contest.
