This photo was published on 9th July, eleven days before the final night. Nine Miss Universe contestants pose atop a New York hotel. From left they are Miss Turkey, Can Uysal; Miss Iceland, Gudlag Gudmundsdottir; Miss England, Iris Waller; Miss Germany, Marina Orschel; Miss France, Anita Treyens; Miss Italy, Rosanna Galli; Miss Sweden, Ingrid Goude; Miss Belgium, Lucienne Auquier; and Miss Canada, Elaine Bishenden. The contest will begin in Long Beach, California, Thursday.
