This photo was published on 13th July, seven days before the final night. Young males look up from their beach pads to size up the passing parade as contenders for the Miss Universe crown stroll past their hotel pool after arriving at Long Beach, California, Thursday. They are 70 other foreign and domestic beauties will be on hand before judging begins next week. From left: Miss Nevada, Marley Sanderson; Miss Michigan, Barbara Sies; Miss Indiana, Beverly Mattox and Miss France, Anita Treyens.
