This photo was published on 9th July, eight days before the final night. Men of the Norwegian training ship Narvik salute as Miss Norway, Synnove Gulbrandsen steps aboard and favours the quarterdeck with a smile. The blonde Miss Norway is one of a group of Miss Universe contestants in New York on a sightseeing tour before leaving for Long Beach, California where they will vie for the title of Miss Universe 1953.
