This sextet of Latin American contestants for the Miss Universe crown rehearses with Bob Russell, director and master of ceremonies of the pageant at Long Beach, California. In the group from left to right are Miss Peru Mary Ann Sarmiento, Miss Uruguay Alicia Ibáñez, Miss Panama Emita Arosemena, Miss Mexico Ana Bertha Lepe, Miss Puerto Rico Wanda Irizarry and Miss Venezuela Gisela Bolaños Scarton.
