This photo was published on 20th July, three days after the final night. Christiane Martel, from France (center) named Miss Universe at Long Beach, California, stands with the four finalists she defeated for the title. Left to right here are: Miss Australia, Maxine Morgan, fifth (fourth runner-up); Miss Mexico, Ana Lepe, fourth (third runner-up); Miss Universe 1953; Miss U.S.A., Myrna Hansen, second (first runner-up) and Miss Japan, Kinuko Ito, third (second runner-up).
