Subject: 37.1) In addition to the things Elaine mentions above, both men have a ruthlessness about them and seem confident in very dangerous situations. They are both honorable as well. 37.2) I too thought it was Doherty, never thought of Hagerty. So, I wasn't sure about the torture..if it was Doherty what info were they thinking to get from my man hmmm? Maybe it wasn't info at all, just that these bastards wanted to prolong it and enjoyed that aspect of their job. 37.3) OMG!! I think my first reaction was 'You did WHAT???' But after emailing the author with this statement, her explanation made me understand it truly was the safest place for Casey at this point *g*
In reply to: Carla 's message, "Chapter 37: Zorba and Company Despite the deadly serious nature of his task, I found myself smiling at the image of Jamie as "Zorba, The Greek" in this chapter. Then I had a vision of Jamie in his get-up and Casey as the priest pulling off some scheme together and laughed out loud. Now, on to the questions." on 08:39:50 09/24/07 Mon

  • 38.1) Gosh this is a tough one. It’s one thing to know about the atrocities that go on in a prison, but another thing to know they are happening to someone you love. Knowing might make me a little less angry at the man…cuz yea I’d probably be angry not only at the system but at him too – if he wasn’t involved in the things he was involved in he wouldn’t be there, he’d still be with me. I know that’s not rational but there ya go. On the other hand, not knowing might help me keep my sanity. 38.2) Casey had become somewhat of a leader to this group of men…whether he wanted it or not, he’s just a natural. I think he knew they'd fare better as a group sticking together. If he wanted to keep their loyalty and support he had to prove himself in front of them. Besides he’s just that kind of guy, taking the punches to protect someone else. I felt like any one of those men could be counted on to have Casey’s back after this.
